Mburo National Park |
Lying
in the one part of Uganda covered inextensive acacia woodland,
Mburo hasmarkedly different fauna to other parksand reserves.
Lake Mburo is the best placein the country to see the gigantic
elandantelope, as well as zebra, topi, impala, andseveral acacia-associated
birds. The fivelakes within the park attract hippos,crocodiles
and a variety of waterbirds,while fringing swamps hide secretivepapyrus
specialists such as the sitatungaantelope and red, black and yellow
papyrusgonalek. Mburo is the closest national parkto Kampala and
offers a refreshing stopoverwhen travelling to or from the westernparks
and reserves.

Two hours west from Kampalaalong the Mbarara Road,turning left
at Sanga. The restcamp is 206 further on.
